Managing risk in an inherently risky business

I write this as a review to help newer farmers, or those who are tired of period production or marketing uncertainties, to consider ways of successfully managing business risk. I first address many of the risk-reduction paths that other people advise for farmers. I then cover in detail the three key tools our own farm uses to successfully minimize risk and ensure profits, year after year:
Diversified marketing;
Diversified cropping;
Humble and respectful soil and natural resource management.
