Commentary follows on Lynn’s “What Will Replace Organic?” (GFM,March 2001). She wrote, in part: “ The new national organic standards had barely been published in the Federal Register when unhappy farmers started talking about dropping out of the organic farming business. ... many people seem resigned to the fact that they’re going to have to give up the word “organic” and find another label.
